EXTREME TEMPERATURES

From as low as 1.9 K up to 2000 °C

1.9 K

At CERN, temperatures as low as 1.9 K are widely present – and necessary as the LHC particularly relies heavily on superconducting magnets.

2000 °C

On the other side, so-called beam intercepting devices interact directly with the beam. Consequence are temperatures that approach 2000 °C.

Hence, we widened our expertise and equipment to support the entire community of

CERN for most of the present temperatures present at CERN.
