As lab responsible, I manage the activities from technical and administrative point of view and give orientation for future investments.
ÓSCAR SACRISTÁN DE FRUTOS
Expert in mechanical & thermo-physical characterization
My work focuses on the characterization of advanced materials from the thermal and mechanical point of view at cryogenic temperature.
SYLVAIN MUGNIER
Experimental Stress Analyst
My main activity is to performed mechanical measurements on all types of magnets prototypes. To validate FEA during assembly phases, thermal cycles and powering tests.
DAVID THULIEZ
Lab technician in mechanical and vibration testing
My job in the mechanical measurement laboratory consists of preparing and carrying out mechanical and vibration tests for various CERN projects.
MURIELLE DELOFFRE
Lab technician for instrumenting electrical and optical sensors
My main jobs are to prepare cabling and gluing strain gauges for instrumentation for several projects: superconducting magnets, beam screens, HiRadMat etc
STEFAN HOELL
Fellow in thermal analysis measurements and developments
Aside from activities in the thermal analysis of advanced materials, I am in charge of the developments in thermal analysis at cryogenic temperatures down to 1.9 K.
LAURA THACKRAY
Fellow in optical fiber activities for strain and temperature
As an R&D fellow, I am developing and characterizing homemade sensors based on optical fiber suitable for CERN’s harsh environments.
LAKSHIT BAHL
Fellow in digital twin activities and digital transformation
I am working as a Data Scientist responsible for building real-time data systems for FCC’s Digital Twin initiative, also taking care of Digital Transformation of the MMElab.
ESTELLE SENBATI FAGI
Apprentice in thermo-physical characterization
As a Technical Apprentice, I am working on thermal analysis of materials in cryogenic temperature. Proficient in traction, bending and compression test, data analysis in python.
Our Mission
Pushing the boundaries of measurement technology to enable groundbreaking research at CERN
Mechanical Measurement Lab undertakes physical and mechanical measurements for a wide range of components and devices for present and future high-energy physics projects. Measurements are carried out in a large variety of environments, including cryogenic temperatures, high radiation environment and high magnetic fields, using state-of-the-art equipment.
